Occasionally, the Editors invite leading scientists to write brief reviews on important new developments in a particular sub-field of interest to the Laser Physics Letters Community.
The purpose of each of these articles is to:
- Inform the general readership of major advances in a fast developing field.
- Provide a starting point to researchers and students interested in pursuing work in the particular field of the article.
- Summarize the results obtained by the authors' research group(s) through a review of their relevant previous or pending publications.
- When appropriate, comment on different techniques or methodologies used by other research groups towards solving the same physical problems addressed in the Brief Review article.
To fulfill the above goals, the Editors adopted the following guidelines for these Invited Articles:
- The manuscripts of each Brief Review should not exceed 30-40 standard pages in MS Word (font size 12) and can be submitted in MS Word or TeX.
- An introduction to the field describing for the non-expert the recent developments in the particular field, including its relationship and possible impact on other fields of Laser Physics, should precede the detailed discussions of the new advances.
- Inclusion of detailed lengthy calculations and proofs should be as much as feasible avoided; reference to the original articles should instead be given.
- Clear statements of the open problems in the field should be given.
- Authors should include a list of publications for further readings.
