Sergey A. Babin was born on November 29, 1961. He graduated with honors from Novosibirsk State University in 1983 and now is the vice-director of the Institute of Automation and Electrometry, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, Russia.
