Please make a notation in your 2023 Summer schedule.
With best wishes,
Management Team
Dear LPHYS'22 Participants,
The deadline for talk submission is extended until Friday, . Please consider submitting your abstracts before that date to allow time for setting up and posting the Conference Program online and Zoom arrangement. The Co-Chairs are standing by to accommodate your submissions.
This year, our milestone thirtieth annual International Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS'22) will be held from to , in the online format on Zoom.
According to most participants, last year, our LPHYS'21 conference on Zoom achieved substantial success. Three hundred twenty-six delegates from 26 countries over 11 time zones participated in the event.
This year, we will keep the Zoom conference as closely as possible to the standard in-person format of the previous years. We hope the cordial atmosphere that had always ruled at our annual meetings will continue.
This year, we will follow a simplified schedule for collecting conference fees. The fee amounts have been slashed. Please follow the Workshop Fees page. Each participant will receive Zoom links to all seminars and plenary sessions a few days before the event.
This year, IOP Publishing will implement new Conference Proceedings rules. Please review our Proceedings page.
Even though our workshops scheduled to take place in Lyon, France, have already been postponed three times in 2020, 2021, and 2022, we hope that our next Workshop will indeed take place there in 2023.
Please follow all our further announcements on matters related to the conference on this page.
The thirtieth annual International Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS'22) will be held from to . The format of the conference is tentatively hybrid, see explanation below. The offline part will take place in the city of Lyon, France, at the Lyon Catholic University, hosted by the Institut Lumière Matière.
We received a timely response to our call for early pre-registration. Of the respondents, 2/3 plan to come to Lyon in July for the in-person conference, and 1/3 would like to participate on Zoom. The Management Team is grateful for their input.
Based on the collected data, we can now tentatively conclude that the format of LPHYS'22 will be hybrid, with its in-person section held in Lyon at the Lyon Catholic University during the above dates, as previously intended. However, due to the fast-changing travel conditions in the world and other circumstances that are not under anyone's control, we must keep a last-resort option of conducting our conference entirely on Zoom.
Please follow all our further announcements on the conference format matter here on this page. Also, we would like to remind you that our system is currently available for uploads of your abstracts (after pre-registration).
With a great hope of seeing you all in Lyon or online in July,
Management Team
Dear Colleagues,
The 30th Annual Laser Physics Workshop is set for -. Place: Lyon, France, as scheduled before, in 2020, and then postponed to 2021. We hope the Covid pandemic will be behind us soon. We have posted all related information on our portal. Please get familiar with all necessary information posted.
In 2021, we conducted LPHYS'21 in a virtual online format on Zoom. Three hundred twenty-six participants from 26 countries have attended the online sessions.
Provided that new Covid-19 travel and gathering restrictions are lifted, we consider running this event in a hybrid format, both in-person and, simultaneously, on Zoom. The online virtual attendance will be mixed with an in-person appearance in Lyon.
Since the world epidemic conditions are changing constantly and unpredictably, the Organizing committees set up a deadline to decide on either running the Workshop in a hybrid format or switching to the full online virtual attendance, like in 2021. This deadline is set up for February 1, 2022.
At this time, we need your help in gathering as much information as possible on potential attendance from all our prospective participants, both in-person and virtual. This information will allow us to make proper arrangements ahead of time.
For this purpose, the LPHYS'22 Managing Team opened online pre-registration on the Laser Physics portal, where you can elect to attend either in-person in Lyon or virtually online. The Management Team encourages everyone to make a preliminary decision of whether they will be able to travel to Lyon for the in-person meeting or would prefer to stay home and attend the conference on Zoom.
It would take a few minutes to do your pre-registration. We very much count on your speedy response to this crucial inquiry.
After you pre-register online, please regularly log in to the Laser Physics homepage to stay updated on all forthcoming announcements.
We look forward to seeing you in Lyon in July 2022 or seeing you on our monitors there.
With best wishes,
Management Team
Dear Colleagues,
The LPHYS'21 Steering and
Advisory&Program committees are very pleased to report that 326
participants from 26 countries have attended this year the 29th International Laser Physics Workshop on Zoom.
The entire Workshop content will appear on a special YouTube channel created for this purpose. An access link will become available on our website soon. Please follow our notifications.
We also want to remind you that our next milestone 30th Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS'22) will be held from to , in the city of Lyon, France, at the Lyon Catholic University hosted by the Institut Lumière Matière. If COVID-19 restrictions do not interfere (and we all hope they don't), the Workshop will be held in a hybrid format for the first time: in-person and simultaneously online. Please make a note of it in your 2022 summer schedule.
Management Team
Dear LPHYS'21 Participants,
As scheduled, the LPHYS'21 Workshop will start on Monday, July 19, at 13:30 CET (Paris time). Our distinguished Organizing Committee members, Prof. V. Yukalov (Russia) and Prof. V. Bagnato (Brazil), will be running the opening session. Then, at the first plenary session at 14:00 CET, Prof. Gerard Mourou (France) will give his lecture followed by the regular question&answers period. This plenary session will be chaired by Prof. C.H. Keitel (Germany). Detailed Plenary sessions program can be found here.
On or before July 16, all LPHYS'21 participants will be provided with Zoom links to all seminars and plenary sessions. You can find the links on the LPHYS'21 Participant Information page when login into your Participant Personal Page. Our system allows access to the links only if your payment status is 'PAID'.
The following are a few practical suggestions for all Zoom participants.
Please check your Internet connectivity. Zoom requires at least 5 Mbps of download speed and at least 5 Mbps of upload speed for an adequate bandwidth. The faster Internet gives you a smoother connection. We recommend you to check your Internet connections parameters using any suitable website (e.g. www.speedtest.net ). If your download or upload speed is not in compliance with the Zoom requirements, we would highly recommend you to contact your local Internet provider ASAP to request at least a 20 Mbps speed for the period July 16-July 23.
Please check whether Zoom is downloaded on your device: it may be inconvenient to load and install it within the last few minutes before your presentation. If not, please download it from www.zoom.us and get familiar with this facility. Help can be found at Zoom Help Center.
To summarise:
Check your Internet connection: the faster the better, but at least 5 Mbps;
Install Zoom on your device;
Make sure you've paid the registration fee.
We look forward to seeing all of you on July 19 on Zoom.
The LPHYS'21 Steering and Advisory&Program committees are honored to announce that Professor Gérard Mourou, a winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Physics, will give a lecture at one of the plenary sessions of our Zoom conference. The title and date of his presentation is to be announced soon.
LPHYS'21 Management Team

Editorial Board Members Laser Physics Laser Physics Letters
Dear Colleagues,
The LPHYS'21 Steering and Advisory&Program committees have authorized us to inform all prospective participants that the twenty-ninth annual International Laser Physics Workshop (LPHYS'21) is still tentatively scheduled to run in-person from to , in the city of Lyon, France, at the Lyon Catholic University, hosted by the Institut Lumière Matière in anticipation that the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the world clears up soon.
We are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 conditions and hope that the Workshop will take place in-person at the above location and dates.
However, taking into account all risks involved in these unpredictable times, we are currently arranging an alternative format for LPHYS'21, a virtual one.
Accordingly, we are opening a new Workshop registration and call for abstracts suitable for both Workshop formats, in-person and online.
Exploring the virtual conference arrangements, we have decreased the amount of fees and came up with the amount for the online format.
In order to avoid extra movements of funds and simplify payment methods, we are starting the collection of payments in the amount of a single conference fee for virtual format.
If we are lucky enough to run a usual in-person gathering in Lyon, we will adjust the payment of the balance of the full fee. The fee is to be paid online or at registration.
The participants who had previously registered for LPHYS'20 are advised to re-register for LPHYS'21 on their Participant Personal Page.
Please proceed to our webpage, LPHYS'21, for more detail.
We look forward to meeting you in Lyon or seeing you online at Zoom sessions.

Dear Readers, Contributors and LPHYS' Participants,
Two months ago the Editorial Office has made known about the many instances of returning our sent email messages as "Unable to deliver". Some of the messages have been filtered out and diverted to Spam by your computers. To eliminate these unfortunate occurrences we asked you to make sure that all communication channels are cleared up and free of possible spam interference. We also suggested that you contact your Internet Service Provider or an IT specialist at your workplace as soon as possible to make necessary adjustments, when needed. Please note that these problems, if they exist, can be taken care of from your end only.
At this time, during the period of the upcoming LPHYS'13, the volume of our communications is expected to rise substantially. Please take a few minutes to review and check your mail delivery system.
Many thanks,
Office of the Staff Editor

Dear LPHYS'13 participants and colleagues,
We are happy to announce the implementation of our new "Electronic Registration System" on our website.
Now registering for LPHYS'13 is part of this system.
If in the past years you had registered for previous workshops, your personal information might already exist in the system. In this case, please go to your Participant Personal Page to update your existing information and register for the upcoming LPHYS'13 workshop.
Also, this online system offers the possibility to book the hotel and to request a visa support letter (if needed) to travel to the Czech Republic. To access the system, you need to be logged on to your account which is created automatically when you register for your first LPHYS' workshop. By default, your login is your full e-mail address. Your password is your e-mail address without the first two characters and everything after the "@" sign in lower case. (For example, if your e-mail is Your.Email@eml.com your password is ur.email) We strongly suggest that you change your password as soon as possible.
Please note that this new system is fully independent of our "Electronic Submission System" designed to handle the articles submitted to our journals, so your logins and passwords in both systems might be different.

Dear Contributors,
In our previous announcements on this website we informed you that we had established a new partnership with IOP Publishing (UK) to publish and distribute worldwide both our journals Laser Physics and Laser Physics Letters from January 2013. IOP has already started producing all articles accepted for publication in both journals. You can visit the newly opened websites for these journals:
http://iopscience.iop.org/1555-6611 and
http://iopscience.iop.org/1612-202X.
To avoid unnecessary delays, we would strongly suggest that you carefully review the new IOP article submission requirements before sending your paper to us. You can find these requirements on separate journal web pages on this website in Information for Authors and Author Guidelines. Close compliance with these requirements guarantees that your paper will be processed through editorial preparation, peer-review, acceptance and production as fast as possible.
If you have already sent us your paper after September 1, 2012 we would like to ask you to kindly resubmit it according to the new requirements.
We rely upon your understanding and cooperation.
Many thanks,

Dear Readers and Contributors,
Recently the Editorial Office observed that the unfortunate instances of returning our mail sent to you became more frequent. In the most such cases the reason given for non-delivery is that some of the servers at the receiving end viewed our mail as spam. To eliminate such instances we would ask you to make sure that our communication channels are clear, free of possible spam interference. Please contact your Internet Service Provider or an IT specialist at your workplace as soon as possible to make necessary adjustments if needed.
Season's greetings, and we wish you all the best for the holiday season.
