LPHYS'19. Visa Support:
The Republic of Korea is a frontrunner in welcoming citizens of the world to its shores. Citizens of almost 190 countries enjoy a visa-free admission for a short visit. However, a few countries do not have bilateral visa-exemption agreements with Korea; their citizens need to obtain entry visas to travel there.
In order to be able to travel to Korea for LPHYS'19, you should check whether you need a visa by visiting the Korea Visa Portal. Use Visa Navigator there to find out your visa requirements. Korean consulates in your country issue entry visas.
To apply for a visa, you should first receive a visa support letter from our host organization the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH).
Below outlined the necessary steps in obtaining your visa support letter:
- Register for the Workshop by filling out and submitting a Registration Form online.
- Log in to your Workshop Participant Personal Page and select Edit Personal Information on the left. You need to enter or update required information and then select Visa Request on the left. On the opening page please enter the following information:
- dates of planned entry and departure (add a few days before and after your planned visit);
- email address to which the visa support letter to be forwarded.
- Please provide similar personal data for all persons accompanying you on this trip by filling the separate forms.
- Visa support letter(s), when ready, will be sent to the email address you specified in PDF.
After receiving your visa support letter(s), you can apply for your visa at a Korean Embassy/Consulate or through an Authorized Agent in your country or in the country where you reside. Please be aware that the application requirements might vary from country to country and might require extra time to securing your visa.
