The thirty-third annual International Laser Physics Conference (LPHYS'25) will be held from to in the city of Szeged, Hungary, at the Hunguest Hotel (ex Forrás) and Novotel Hotel, hosted by the ELI ERIC, ALPS (Attosecond Light Pulse Source).

Airports and Transportation to Szeged

Szeged does not have a major international airport. The nearest international gateway is Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD), located approximately 170 km north of Szeged.

By Train from Budapest Airport to Szeged

Trains are the most convenient way to travel from Budapest Airport Terminal 2 to Szeged. You have two options:

Via Ferihegy Railway Station (Direct Route)
  1. Take the 200E bus from Terminal 2 to Ferihegy railway station (~10 minutes, 450 HUF (~1.2 USD/~1.1 EUR)).
  2. Board an InterCity train from Ferihegy to Szeged (~2 hours, 4000 HUF (~11 USD/~10 EUR)).
Via Budapest Nyugati Railway Station (City Centre Route)
  1. Take the 100E airport shuttle from Terminal 2 to Deák Ferenc tér (~40 minutes, 2200 HUF (~6 USD/~5 EUR)).
  2. Transfer to metro line M3 (blue line, ) and travel to Nyugati railway station (~3 minutes, 450 HUF (~1.2 USD/~1.1 EUR)).
  3. Board an InterCity train from Nyugati to Szeged (~2 hours 20 minutes, 3800 HUF (~10 USD/~9 EUR)).

OR

  1. Take the 200E bus from Terminal 2 to Kőbánya-Kispest (~25 minutes, 450 HUF (~1.2 USD/~1.1 EUR)).
  2. Transfer to metro line M3 (blue line, ) and travel to Nyugati railway station (~18 minutes, 450 HUF (~1.2 USD/~1.1 EUR)).
  3. Board an InterCity train from Nyugati to Szeged (~2 hours 20 minutes, 3800 HUF (~10 USD/~9 EUR)).

By Bus from Budapest Airport to Szeged

There are no direct public buses from Budapest Airport to Szeged, but you can reach Szeged via the bus network:

Via Népliget Bus Station
  1. Take the 200E bus from Terminal 2 to Kőbánya-Kispest (~25 minutes, 450 HUF (~1.2 USD/~1.1 EUR)).
  2. Transfer to metro line M3 (blue line, ) and travel to Népliget Bus Station (~7 minutes, 450 HUF (~1.2 USD/~1.1 EUR)).
  3. Board a long-distance bus from Népliget to Szeged (~2.5 to 3 hours, 3500 HUF (~9 USD/~9 EUR)).
